A love letter to the glory days of emo and post-hardcore, that’s how you could describe Static Dress. This stylish British band is clearly inspired by giants Underoath and Norma Jean, but effortlessly crafts a sound all their own. Static Dress doesn’t shy away from a little drama and intrigue either: many tracks follow an overarching storyline with singer Olli Appleyard as protagonist. In these stories, the listener follows Olli while he travels to imaginary worlds parallel to our own. Combine this with a sky-high energy level during live shows and you’ve got a scene revival band with depth. Static Dress is here to stay.
